The Prune Juice and BS (baloney sandwich) net has a long history in the Kern River Valley. For over 30 years this net has convened daily on 2 meters to discuss current events, happenings, and to tell tall tales. Back in the “good old days” it was on simplex. The net currently meets on the N6SR repeater [145.450 (-) PL 156.7] owned by Don Jefferson, KC6OCA. You will find a group of friendly local hams and visitors there every morning (except Sunday) at 9:00AM. The primary net control is Marty KC6RIZ.
The PJ&BS group gets together monthly (usually the 4th Wednesday) for lunch at one of our local eateries. There is also a quarterly breakfast on a Saturday morning. When you are in the area, feel free to join in on the air, or in person, at one of the functions. Contact Marty, KC6RIZ, for more details about when and where if you don't find the information on our Home Page.
After many years as primary net control for the morning net Jane Causey KA6CZS retired in January 2014. In appreciation of her service the club presented Jane with an Outstanding Service Award at the January 11, 2014 meeting.
